Viper Reflex Bag Review

Picture of Boxing Bar Viper Reflex Bag

At a time when everyone is looking for a home workout bag, does the Boxing Bar Viper Reflex Bag make the grade?

Positives

This bag saves time and effort so you do not have to hang a bracket for a bag as its freestanding.

Easy to fill with water.

A good price around £250 compared to Freestanding spar bar at £400.

Seems well made in places.

Used in a commercial environment for six months no sign of damage on head or spring.

Very sturdy doesn’t move when getting hit.

Negatives

Height adjuster broke within three weeks of using boxing bar.

When you hit the target it moves really slow.

Summary

I have got mixed feelings on this training bag, there are so many positives about the bag but there are a few negative aspects too. Yes the boxing bar is well priced in my opinion and made really well especially the spring and boxing target. The bag has been used in a commercial environment for six months and the spring and boxing target has got no signs of wear and tear. We also did experience some problems early on, the height adjuster doesn’t work so we have to use the bar on the same height setting. I own a gym we obviously train small children and adults so this has not been perfect for us. This alone would not put me off buying this again but more importantly for me the bag moves very slow, so when my members use this bag they just practice technique. This is really a downside for me I ask my members if they like using the bag and I would say they either love the bag or hate it. I personally seem to struggle using this bag I would prefer something that moves faster. I would recommend this bag to someone who has not been boxing for long as you do not have to rush your punches and get your technique wrong.

I would prefer to try a bag that is faster moving and maybe not as well made, Cimac make a reflex punching bag that retails as £95 available from Boxfit if I was to buy another bag I would go for this one. Even if it does not last as long it’s still £150 cheaper.
